This weekend after a long sickness I was able to go over to my aunts house for a barbecue since the jets were on tonight. I'm still at my aunts house writing this. So me and my cousins after a long sit down of playing GTA 5 went to go outside and do something, like normal kids. So bored out of our minds we played with bubbles. After words going back to the internet we decide to search up cool magic acts and tricks with bubbles like this  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryGMG06sd38 as ridiculous as this may look and the questioning on how people would pay money to watch a bubble show boggled me so we moved on to the next video in the suggestions box that led to thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA0W2Q0i1Hk really gross but was interesting to us. this video again led us to the viral video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l9HgqPqsk4
this is a video that gives you step by step instructions in the art of how to win a bet, which I find to be not only funny but genius. So all these random videos led me to something horrible to do but informative. Of course I wouldn't do this for money, but its funny to play a trick on friends once in a while

My cultural Old lady painting is going well. Today I had finally convinced my mom to take me to Michaels after the car had come back form being broken? I don't know how but that's not the point. I go into Michaels to find the paint I want to finish, but once I got to the paint idle their was a limited amount of colors! How the hell does an arts and crafts store have such little paint. I was already having a tiresome morning and this just killed it completely. So I ask the lady in the front who reeked of cigarettes if they had more paints in the back or in storage. She didn't even bother to look and me and answered no. Getting even more pissed off I buy what little paint I had and now have to get more tomorrow after school to get the bigger bottles of paint. So my painting schedule didn't turn out so well at first.
Once I finished all my homework I was forced to go outside to paint so that I wouldn't get my room dirty. Once started to paint I felt better and focused on what I wanted to do. I started off with the base of the coat and plotted out what I was going to do for a pattern to make it look more realistic. I had also added more modpog on the background since everyone was telling me how much it looked like wood. To be honest, at first I tried to make it a one color base but I'm pretty proud of how it turned out and look the wood texture it gives of, since I'm aiming for a texture styed portrait. Tomorrow I'm going to start on the skin and with definition and color I will make the wrinkles. The modpog looked really nice on the coat, I hope it looks well on the skin too!

Urban Street Art

http://youtu.be/twr6YOVLJ4w
This is a short Documentary on street art and the opinion the people have on the art they see, whether they think street art is vandalism or true open expression. People are staring to realize street art is a way an artist can express and exhibit their art to the world and how it should be seen from all eyes. Street art is true master pieces. This video appealed to me since i love the way the artist shows his/her meaning and emotion to the public. The artist type of style can be identified if people truly appreciate the artist. I find this art beautiful and expressive and fun and i hope you will too, not just a form of deliquesce.

You can find yourself deep in side
In every dusty corner you find
A beautiful you is ready to shine
If I can see it so will you
You just have to feel it!

I don't know if it went with the beat as well but I know the song  to me is about miracles and having a soft spot for people wanting the individual to open up and be themselves? idk??? blahhh

Artist Biography

Well hello there Ashley! I don't just love art, for me it’s a life style! I don't want to sound cheesy and all ditsy since that's not who I am; but I can always say with confidents that drawing has distracted me on my most darkest days, and kept me going. Drawing is like part on me (again cheesy) but it’s the truth. Only when High School started I had learned to not give two damns on what people say and think of me. I can show people who I am and my love for art so that they will know the real me.

photo.JPGI live in a family where every child had a specific talent. When I was younger I felt pressured since this spark that my cousins had, whether dancing or Baseball, I didn’t have. I struggled with knowing what I wanted to do or my “calling”. I felt different and felt a huge competitive feel between my dad and aunt with her talented children.  One day my dad decided to introduce me to the movie I will never EVER forget. The Little Mermaid, I had watched many stupid cartoons where the art never intrigued me but this was different. My dad the type of guy who would go on and on about the behind the scenes magic of every a Disney movie and how it was made. I had fall completely in love with Disney and hoe they painted and drew every single scene, and just kept telling myself that I would work for Disney, and draw all the characters. You can say that I found my “calling”. For hours I would practice drawing the cover of the CVR tape for the Little Mermaid, and would get frustrated every time it didn’t look the same, but practice makes perfect! Soon I moved on to creating my own stupid little characters, and gave them silly names to match their personalities and one day put them on the screen (I still do today :C). I always drew for best friend and number one supporter, giving her drawing all the time, which you would know as Jessi who I’m happy to be in STAC with.

As I had said before drawing isn’t just a hobby it’s a life style that I would love to pursue. I feel STAC will be a place where I could be comfortable and be myself and not have to deal with the pressures of school and just breathe my creativity into my paper and pencil.

So yeah… I hope that didn’t sound too cheesy…sorry if it did, But in all I’m looking forward to this year.
